As Leader of Manchester City Council, Bev has delivered the highest level of council and affordable housebuilding since the 1990s, reduced homelessness while it has risen elsewhere, and secured an Outstanding Ofsted rating for Children’s Services, which keeps our most vulnerable children safe.
She has driven an economic strategy that delivered the highest levels of growth in the country and reduced deprivation in inner Manchester.
What has Bev Craig Done For Greater Manchester?
For the past few years Bev has led on the economic portfolio for Greater Manchester, working side by side with Andy Burnham and delivering the fastest economic growth in the country, right here in our city-region.
Andy and Bev set up the Good Growth Fund together, designed to deliver opportunities to every bit of Greater Manchester. Their goal was to lift all of our people and places up, not just the parts of Greater Manchester that are already prosperous.
Together under Andy and Bev’s leadership, Greater Manchester has become the fastest-growing city-region in the UK. There is more to do, but Bev’s work has laid the foundation for an even better Greater Manchester.
